Acquired in 2019, the Burnt Pond Project in Newfoundland targets copper and zinc.
Burnt Pond comprises 56 claim units located 8 km from Teck Resources' past-producing Duck Pond Mine. Duck Pond was a VMS deposit that began production in 2007. With a resource of 6 million tonnes, Duck Pond averaged 3% copper, 6% zinc, 60 g/t silver, and 0.9 g/t gold. The Duck Pond deposit was discovered after drilling ten holes, supplemented by extensive geophysical and geochemical surveys.
CBLT's claims share similar geology with Duck Pond, exhibiting altered felsic volcanic rocks and several untested EM targets coinciding with base metal anomalies. Notable findings at Burnt Pond include the Wim Showing [1.9% zinc, 1.5% lead] and a drill result of 1.0% zinc over 2.9m. Burnt Pond offers a chance to leverage two decades of fieldwork and explore previously defined targets.
